Young Historians at King’s Travel Back in Time

King’s pupils have been experiencing history in a distinctly personal way through their ‘Living History Days’. These allow pupils to dress up and immerse themselves in the way of life associated with a particular historical era.

Whilst Year 4 pupils came face to face with the brains and brutality of Roman Britain, Year 3 were transported all the way back to the Stone Age. The pupils found themselves realizing just how closely we are linked to our historical ancestors, and how much we build upon their knowledge even now.

New £60-million King’s School Campus is on Schedule

One year on from the ground-breaking of the new £60-million King’s School campus, it is on schedule to be completed by deadline day in May 2020.

The main structure has been finished with the roof already on the main academic building. Ground works on the grass and all-weather sports pitches is well underway and by Christmas work will begin on completing the internal work.

Alderley Edge Festival – 2019

For more than a hundred years Alderley Edge Festival has been a delightful event for people in Cheshire. As Maria Rushton, one of the organises of the Festival-2019 said, “There’s an element of competition but this is much more about bringing people together to share their enjoyment of performing.” A lot of local schools embraced an opportunity to join the ‘wonderful culture of music, speech and drama’ and some of the children won top awards during the festival.

Creativity is King During Junior Art Week

Pupils in King’s School, Macclesfield, Infant & Junior Division were immersed in a week-long celebration of some of our best loved artists, including L.S. Lowry, as well as a wonderful array of expressive techniques during a week devoted to creativity.
King’s ‘Art Week’ saw three visiting artists give special workshops showing the children the process of making original three dimensional artworks from start to finish.
