Eco-conscious Pupils Take Action at Stockport Grammar

Inspired Stockport Grammar Junior School pupils have set up an Eco Committee with the aim of making the whole school more environmentally friendly.

The Eco Committee, which is made up of pupils from across the year groups, started by completing an Environmental Review of the school in order to begin the Eco School journey and provide ideas of areas to focus on. This included topics such as waste, energy and biodiversity.

Stockport Grammar Pupils Excel in National Enterprise Challenge

A team of four business savvy Second Years from Stockport Grammar School have been named the fourth best team in the country at the Ryman National Enterprise Challenge. The team travelled to the iconic Wembley Stadium for the National Final. Alice Finnie, Alex Bloor, Brooke Richards and Amaya North had created ‘Skyler and Ranger’, a plastic waste fighting duo, to be the new mascot for Ryman.

Stockport Grammar Junior School Head Receives Queen’s Honour for Charity Work

The Headmaster of Stockport Grammar Junior School, Mr Tim Wheeler, has been awarded an MBE for services to charity and to education in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
In addition to his work at SGJS, Mr Wheeler has been the Chair of the Little Princess Trust, since 2011. The charity provides real hair wigs to children and young people with hair loss, and funds vital research into childhood cancer.

Fifth Year pupils at Stockport Grammar School have won the Geographical Association’s North West Regionals WorldWise Quiz – the third time the school has won the competition in the last three years entered.
Cam Wylie, Zara Latif and Oliver Ensor-Adams demonstrated their great geographical knowledge as they competed against 12 schools from across Greater Manchester
