The Eco Committee, which is made up of pupils from across the year groups, started by completing an Environmental Review of the school in order to begin the Eco School journey and provide ideas of areas to focus on. This included topics such as waste, energy and biodiversity.

In addition to his work at SGJS, Mr Wheeler has been the Chair of the Little Princess Trust, since 2011. The charity provides real hair wigs to children and young people with hair loss, and funds vital research into childhood cancer.
Year 6 pupils from Stockport Grammar Junior School delighted audiences with two supercalifragilisticexpialidocious performances of Disney’s Mary Poppins.
All of the children had the chance to show off their talent in the performances with a variety of roles on offer from lead characters to chimney sweeps, kite flyers and police officers

Year Four pupils at Stockport Grammar School experienced life as a prehistoric settler and a Roman on their residential trip to Murton Park in York.
The pupils donned tunics and cloaks to spend the day on a purpose built prehistoric settlement where they experienced first-hand the life of a small community at the dawn of history.
Nine SGS pupils from the Fifth Year and Sixth Form competed against over 3,500 teams in the National Cipher Challenge at the University of Southampton. They proved they are the best codebreakers in the country and got the top team prize of £1,000.
