Pre-Schoolers Playtime with the Mayor!
Councillor Walter Brett, Mayor of Stockport, opened Hulme Hall Pre-School’s new outdoor classroom yesterday morning and couldn’t resist trying it out for himself!
The Mayor visited the Pre-School play area and cut the ribbon on a fabulous new space that gives the children access to play equipment alongside a natural area for sensory exploration.
Head of Hulme Hall Pre-School Mrs Khinda said “We are delighted with the outside area which gives the children so much scope for role play and investigation.”
She continued, “We have been on our Davenport site for a full academic year and are now able to utilise all the space to its full potential.”
The children were keen to show the Mayor their new classroom and the Councillor was more than happy to oblige, even testing some of the equipment himself!
Before descending down the freshly installed slide, Councillor Brett said, “It is so important for children to learn through play and facilities such as this give them the opportunity to do just that.”
The Mayor played alongside children in the sand, donned a hard hat in the construction area and dished out numerous high fives to the children before officially opening the area!
He then made a short visit to see children in the Junior Learning Centre to see the next stage of Hulme Hall education.
