Manchester Gramma School: Another Year of Outstanding Results
This month Sixth Form and GCSE pupils at The Manchester Grammar School are celebrating another year of exceptional examination results both in A-level and GCSE.
Last week they received an outstanding set of A-level grades with 38% of all grades at A*, 73% at A* or A, and 87% at A*, A or B. This performance puts MGS in a very select group of schools nationally.
Oxford and Cambridge offered places to 30 Manchester Grammar School pupils in 2023. Other leading universities to which MGS boys will be heading this autumn include Imperial, UCL, LSE, Durham, Warwick, York, KCL, Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham and Leeds.
Today the school learned that 40% of all GCSE grades this year were at the very highest grade 9 level and two-thirds of all grades achieved were 9 or 8. 104 MGS boys were awarded all 9, 8 and 7 grades.
Two boys from MGS also found out today that they attain top GCSE scores in the country – one for Computer Science and another for Classical Greek.
The School’s High Master, Dr Martin Boulton, said, “We are very proud of these groups of pupils having achieved such outstanding results. Our boys can now approach the next exciting stage of their academic careers with real confidence.”
