Altrincham Preparatory School for Boys
September marks the first full year for APS’ new Headmaster, Mr Nick Vernon, and it’s set to be an exciting one following the completion of a brand new Science Lab at the Marlborough Road site. The Science Lab adds to the array of specialist facilities, including a music block, art studios, and a Forest School which supports play, exploration and risk-taking.
These excellent facilities, in addition to its highly qualified and specialised teaching staff, enable Altrincham Preparatory School to find and nurture a spark in all pupils. In the words of Mr Vernon: ‘Through our smaller class sizes and excellent team, we aim to inspire curiosity in all of our boys, right from when they join us at Nursery through to when they leave us at the age of 11. We are proud to offer a true breadth in our education; we want boys to discover passions that last lifetimes, whilst also preparing them for secondary education.’
Outdoor learning is also key to the boys’ development, and the impressive green space that the school offers enables the boys to take part in a wide variety of sports, as well as taking lessons outdoors when the weather allows. ‘Boys learn best through action. We have fantastic outdoor grounds and the boys use these throughout the year to really engage their learning,’ says Mr Vernon.
Altrincham Preparatory School will be hosting two upcoming Open Mornings. The first on Saturday 8th October will focus on the school’s Early Years facilities: Nursery, Pre-School and Pre-Prep. On Thursday 17th November the school will be open for all ages.
