Code Ninjas: Respite for Parents, Fun for Children
It comes as no surprise that parents have had more to juggle than usual throughout the pandemic and multiple lockdowns. Supporting children through one of the most unprecedented periods in a generation while simultaneously becoming their teachers – all of this while they navigate and deal with the pandemic themselves!
The last 19 months have seen a huge emphasis being placed on children and how the pandemic has affected their development, social lives, and education. Parents, meanwhile, have been under huge amounts of pressure and stress to ensure that these areas, which are so vital for children’s wellbeing, have continued in some capacity. This has led to one in four parents always or often feeling lonely, according to Action for Children.
To offer parents some respite and children a lot of fun, Code Ninjas an international kids’ coding school, came up with the idea of ‘Parents’ Night Out’. With Code Ninjas offering classes into the evening, CEO of the company Justin Nihiser believes that kids will see the benefits of these sessions, while parents will be afforded some valuable time to catch up on their personal lives.
Justin says: “Code Ninjas is the perfect place for kids to develop and catch up on their education while having fun. And it doesn’t have to affect parents’ schedules, with flexible classes running throughout the week. ‘Parents’ Night Out’ is a programme we run purely for the benefit of busy working parents, who equally need some personal time to enjoy themselves again. So, as the doors to our Dojos open up again, we urge families to consider using Code Ninjas for the good of themselves as well as their children!”
One of the biggest benefits afterschool activities offer is the support they provide to working families. Afterschool programmes ensure that children have a safe place to go while parents or guardians are at work. But with most afterschool activities for kids generally only running until around 5 pm, it is all too rare to find trusted, well-established providers offering their services through to the evening. With Code Ninjas classes running until 9 pm through their ‘Parents’ Night Out’ programme, parents are given the chance to take their children to learn exciting new things while adults can spend the most sociable hours of the day with their friends without feeling guilty.
And what is better, Code Ninjas will soon be opening their doors locally, with preparations well underway for a Dojo in Hyde.
What a great idea. Look forward to local openings. Coding is for everyone!
