Here’s to the New Academic Year!
M&D Magazine is out again and our readers can find it in all the usual places – schools, nurseries, shops, libraries. And some of you are getting your copies directly through your letterboxes, because not everything is open yet, and despite the fact that almost all the restrictions are lifted, we’re still cautious and careful, and keep finding our way through the pandemic – step by step.
So hello, September! Hello, New Academic Year! Boy, we’ve been waiting for you – with anticipation and trepidation, with hope and despair. We just kept our fingers crossed and geared ourselves up for all eventualities. We don’t want much, New Academic Year, we just want you to be normal, the same as before ‘you know what’. We want children to be in schools, parents at work, grandparents babysitting without wearing masks – and a bit of eating out for everybody, a bit of theatre and possibly a Panto and Xmas with the family, when it comes to it.
OK, let’s wait and see. And let’s be fair. The summer wasn’t too bad after all. I’m not talking about the weather, of course. But the holidays abroad, although a bumpy experience at times, happened for those most adventurous of us, while staycations opened up some new places and experiences for many. And spending time with friends and families became normality again.
So, here’s to the New Academic year!
