If you’re looking for new and rewarding experiences this year and would love to lend a hand helping us bring our Heritage Lottery funded ‘Field to Fork’ story to life for our visitors – then get in touch and come along to a volunteer open day, taking place down on the Farm on 18 & 19 January 2020.
Fascinating characters
The Farm are looking for confident and sociable people of all ages and backgrounds to help us bring the ‘Field to Fork’ characters of the Miller, Teamsman and Land Army girl to life, help with family orientated ‘horrible history’ style guided tours of the mill and run some of the newly restored Mill Machinery.
You may have a true passion for life on the Farm and its traditional farming methods or simply enjoy storytelling and interacting with our visitors. Whatever your passion and drive you’ll be in good company with a great team of people.
There are so many benefits to volunteering, particularly volunteering in the great outdoors – but don’t just take our word for it…
“I’ve been a learning and interpretation volunteer for 4 years playing the part of Mary Sant who worked as a caretaker of the Estate Offices here on the farm from 1909-1948. I enjoy the diversity the role brings and the comradeship and interaction with other volunteers who play different characters… its lots of fun I assure you.”
