Fashion & Fizz in Altrincham
Playing an active part within the local community is really important to the staff, parents and children at Juice Nursery. Over the years they have supported a variety of local initiatives and events and a firm favourite in their calendar is the annual Paint Altrincham Pink campaign!
The campaign sees the Altrincham community really coming together over a week long period, to raise funds and awareness for locally-based charity, Prevent Breast Cancer. Juice Nursery has a great week of ‘pink’ activities planned for the next week and, following on the success of the event last year, a Fashion & Fizz Night on Thursday 12th March at Altrincham’s Laundry B.
Based at The Nightingale Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital, Prevent Breast Cancer is the only UK breast cancer charity funding ground-breaking research solely aimed at preventing the disease. Their aim is that one day their research will bring about a world where breast cancer is preventable and thousands of lives are saved from ever experiencing this terrible disease.
Since first getting involved some 3 years ago, Juice Nursery has helped to raise over £4,000 for Prevent Breast Cancer, from events such as Toddle Waddle and Family Fun Day, with Sarah Leary, Juice’s Marketing Manager, also becoming an Ambassador for the charity, tasked with looking for further fundraising opportunities outside of those taking place within the nursery.
Sarah says, “Having had friends and family members that have been through the ordeal of breast cancer, I am passionate about supporting a charity which is focused on preventing this disease for future generations. Being able to do this, whilst involving the parents and children of our nursery and participating in local events to raise awareness, as well as funds for the charity, is therefore a win win!”
