Don’t miss TV’s Richard Wilson at the Chestnut Centre tonight!
One Foot in the Grave actor Richard Wilson stars in a new series tonight, featuring the Chestnut Centre conservation and wildlife park in Chapel-en-le-Frith.
In new series Richard Wilson on the Road, which begins on ITV at 8pm tonight (Monday 5th January), Richard is on a driving tour of the UK in his vintage 1960s Daimler, first stopping in Derbyshire.
As part of the programme he visits the Chestnut Centre, meeting owner Carol Heap and feeding giant otters Manoki, Panambi and Meamu.
He also learns about the Kinder Scout uprising that led to the freedom to roam the Derbyshire Dales and calls in at the historic towns of Buxton and Bakewell, turning his hand to cooking one of their famous puddings.
“Giant otters are very vocal so once the cameras were rolling the otters decided to make some noise,” said Carol about the filming last year. “They had to call ‘cut’ on a number of occasions.”
