Bring your sense of wonder and be prepared to get silly as you join the Science Museum Explainers on a fun and creative journey as they roll, clank, whirr and clack their way around the Textiles Gallery. Especially for the younger visitors aged 5 and under, this Makaton-friendly adventure will have you whirring like a cog and turning like a crank to find out how our bodies work like machines.

Pancake Weekend at the Farm

Come down to the Farm for some flipping fun and celebrate the humble pancake!
Discover more about where your pancake ingredients come from.
Learn about the chickens that will have laid the eggs, move into the Mill to learn about the flour you need, and then see the fresh milk straight from the shippon.
You will be able to see how we make pancakes and we have taster sessions at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm, each taster session will finish with a have a go pancake flipping competition.

Astro Night – Kids
Calling all budding young astronomers! You are invited to join join Jodrell Bank staff for an unmissable opportunity to get started in astronomy at Jodrell Bank home of the famous Lovell Telescope.
During our fun-packed evening you will enjoy a journey around space in awesome Space Dome and you’ll be able to get hands on with telescopes and binoculars as you learn to navigate the night sky. You’ll also have the opportunity dress up as an astronaut taking your first steps on the moon and make your own comet to take home with you!
Note: observing the night sky is weather permitting
This event is recommended for families with children aged 7 – 13.

Feel Good Kids Art Club at Whitworth
Fun and expressive art and mindfulness session in the Whitworth’s peaceful Art Garden, Whitworth Park, and Clore Garden Studio. Aimed at ages 7-12, children will explore calming mindfulness techniques, all while connecting with nature and creating their own meaningful artwork.

Guided toddler walks
This is an opportunity for little ones to try walking on different surfaces for a sensory experience. These walks are led by the little adventurers, together with a guide they might spend time looking for leaves, playing pooh sticks or watching wildlife. These walks will go ahead in most weather conditions, as even the pouring rain can reveal wonders for the sights and senses. The walk will last for between 30-45 minutes, and toddlers will be able to walk and explore at their own pace. Where possible pushchairs are left in the pushchair storage which is in the Pre-loved Bookshop.
New for 2025 are optional nature themed activities:
10th March – Nature Scavenger Hunt. 31st March – Nature Crown
12th May – Sound Walk. 19th May – Leaf Kebab

Free none-ticketed event, admission charges do not apply. Simply meet in the Mill Yard at 11am. Due to popularity, please, pre-book online, book a ticket per child. Adults do not require a ticket.
