Following the popularity of our first event held locally in Stockport in 2015 – Sling It North West. Sling It Babywearing will be returning to Greater Manchester on 2nd April 2016 for our first national event.

We aim to boost the profile of babywearing, raise awareness of the benefits of carrying your baby close in a sling or carrier and the important safety points. To make this event accessible to all it will be free admission.

Sling It babywearing and platinum sponsor Firespiral Slings will be opening the doors at Greater Manchester’s Salford University Maxwell hall for a day of sling demonstrations, talks and exhibitors. We welcome speakers discussing subjects such as ‘Using slings to provide Kangaroo Care’ and ‘How to set up your own sling lending library’ with many more to be announced.

The day will include a wrap & carrier fashion show some of which will be available to win in our charity raffle at the end of the day, an exhibition of babywearing art, lots of activities to keep children of all ages happy & we will reattempt to set the world record for most babies being carried in carriers with a minimum of 250 babies.

It’s a Sling Thing will be running a pop up sling lending library in partnership with local sling libraries offering free sling & carrier hire during the event plus advice & support from qualified babywearing consultants and peer supporters.

The exhibition hall will feature well known British and European babywearing brands, retailers, artisan makers and Work From Home Parents. Sling It are proud to support Work from home parents by offering affordable exhibition packages from £30
