Great Outdoors Week at Terra Nova
The RSPB’s Big Schools Birdwatch saw the Nursery & Reception children at Terra Nova School watching excitedly, through their binoculars as they stepped outside to look for and count the birds that share their wonderful outdoor environment. With over 30 acres of stunning grounds, it’s no surprise the children saw a Jay, 3 Nuthatch and a Songthrush amongst the thriving bird population.
New video and digital cameras have been purchased for every class in the Pre-Prep and the children continued their studies by making bird feeders, researching habitats and geography and looking at maps.
Head of Pre-Prep and Nursery, Rachel Cookson commented, “The children at Terra Nova are so fortunate to be in such wonderful surroundings. Children love wildlife and we are blessed with an abundance of fascinating wildlife here.”
