Can You Help Us Bid for a New Primary School in Cheadle Hulme?

Cheadle Hulme Education Trust, which is responsible for the outstanding Cheadle Hulme High School, is leading an exciting bid for a new primary school to serve the Cheadle Hulme area. The new school would be a free school, sponsored by the Trust.

For the bid to be successful, the Trust requires the help of parents in the local community whose children are due to start primary school in 2016 or 2017. Parents can sign up to support the idea now.

Linda Magrath, Headteacher, representing Cheadle Hulme Education Trust says: “We see this bid as an opportunity to meet the needs of our local community and to support our vision that every child, regardless of background or circumstance, will flourish, enjoy their education and succeed. We hope parents will support the idea of a new primary school in the Cheadle Hulme are. By signing up, you are not committing to anything, just registering your interest in this new and exciting venture. We would really like to hear from you.”

Councillor Sue Derbyshire, Leader of Stockport Council, says: “The primary schools in this area are full and it is projected that without an additional school being created there will be pressure on local school places. We welcome this bid that is being led by the Cheadle Hulme Education Trust as it will help deliver the extra places that are needed.”
