It’s time to sign up to our spellbinding school of sorcery as you take a wacky and wonderful whistle stop tour of the Wizard Academy and learn to become a master of mystery and magic.

East Lancashire Railway Wizard Adventures | A witch with an owlDuring this magical interactive experience you’ll take lessons in the basics of broomsticks, practice your potion making, be instructed in incantations and learn to tattle and talk with a tawny owl.

A perfect adventure for students age 5 – 12 but anyone is welcome to enrol. Come and become a wonderful wizard and learn everything you need to know to carry out a secret mission of the utmost importance and graduate with prestigious honours of hocus-pocusry.

If you find all of this magical mayhem leaves you with an appetite, visit the Trackside Bar and Restaurant sited on Bury Station Platform itself. This cosy and traditional pub offers a wide range of drinks as well as a mouth-watering menu of foodie favourites. There’s even a kids menu for the little ones.

Complete your day out with a trip to Bury Transport Museum. Located just across the road from the East Lancashire Railway’s Bolton Street Station in a stunningly renovated goods warehouse dating back to the Victorian Era, the museum is a great place to explore local transportation history. The combination of interactive exhibits and original artefacts bring the stories of the people who lived and worked in the Irwell Valley to life.

It’s an enchanting experience for all the family.
