Outdoor family adventures this half term at Tatton Park
There is plenty to keep the family entertained in the great outdoors this February half term, with a Scarecrow Festival, Percy the Park Keeper trail and Parkland Scavenger Hunt.
Myth and magic at this year’s Scarecrow Festival
Our popular Scarecrow Festival returns for 2022 and runs through half term from Saturday 19th to Sunday 27th February. This year’s mythical and magical scarecrows will be dotted across the Farm and Gardens for you to find during your visit. Look out for Loch Ness Monster at the Farm or cast a spell on Harry Potter and Dumbledore in the Gardens. There will be dozens of other magical creatures and mythical beings on display for your family to find – all made out of straw!
Percy the Parkland adventures continue
If your little ones like Percy the Park Keeper, they’ll love this outdoor trail at Tatton Park. Buy a trail sheet for just £1 at the Welcome Building and then head over to Dairy Wood, where an interactive trail awaits you, inspired by Nick Butterworth’s Percy the Park Keeper story ‘After the Storm’. As you make your way through the woodland, children can have a go at forest play activities such as building a den, playing with the mud kitchen and music wall or creating animal art. The trail also includes beautiful illustrations and excerpts from the book and asks children to help find Percy’s animal friends a new home, after the storm.
Calling all Scavengers
Nurture your family’s sense of outdoor adventure this half term with Tatton Park’s Winter Scavenger Hunt. Do you think you could find animal tracks, nibbled pinecones, and berries in 1,000 acres of ancient deer park? Or know a Heron or Wren when you see one? Maybe you will spot a winter flower and a rock big enough to stand on. Pick up a free Scavenger Hunt sheet from the Welcome Building at Tatton Park, or download a copy from their website before you set off across the Parkland.
