The Magic of Tooth Fairy

Since launching in Ireland in 2024, My Forever Tooth Fairy has been capturing the hearts of parents and children alike. Emma Duffy, founder of this children’s brand designed to transform the tooth fairy tradition into a more magical, meaningful, and memorable experience for both kids and their parents, grew up in Faughart, Ireland. She was surrounded by fairy folklore, which planted the seeds for bringing the tooth fairy to life later in her life. Here’s Emma answering M&D’s questions about herself and her new product now entering the UK market.

Q. Can you tell us about your background?

A. Before founding My Forever Tooth Fairy, I spent over 23 years shaping household brands at Bewley’s, Glanbia, Musgrave, Fyffes, and Intact, specialising in marketing, sales, and new product development. I also hold a degree in International Marketing, a diploma in PR and Digital Marketing and an MBA from The Open University.

In my entrepreneurial journey, I’ve been backed by Enterprise Ireland New Frontiers, ACORNS and Starting Strong Female Entrepreneurship Programmes and funding from the Local Enterprise Office (LEO).

Q. What inspired you to start My Forever Tooth Fairy?

A. I was inspired by my own daughter and a deep passion for children’s emotional wellbeing, which made me want to create a product which helps children feel magical just as they are, while also giving parents a way to treasure fleeting childhood moments. I have poured my life savings into building the brand with the simple yet powerful idea: every child has their own Forever Tooth Fairy, and with each lost tooth, they bestow upon them magical superpowers like love, confidence and friendship – 20 in total for all the baby teeth. I wanted to reimagine the tooth fairy and noticed a gap in the market for a toy like this, and made a children’s book to go along with it.

A. I created My Forever Tooth Fairy to turn a lovely childhood tradition into a much more magical experience for both parents and children. For parents, I want to take the hassle out of the tooth fairy tradition and make it effortless for them to turn each lost tooth into a lovely, cherished memory. For children, I want them to first fall in love with the gift – the book, the doll etc. Then, as they immerse themselves in the tale, I hope they see themselves in it and understand: you are magical, just the way you are. In years to come I hope this is a childhood keepsake that the whole family will look back on with cherished memories.

Q. What’s your best piece of advice for parents and guardians introducing the tooth fairy?

A. That first wiggly tooth, and anticipation of the first visit from the Tooth Fairy can be both exciting and a little daunting for young children. Here is how My Forever Tooth Fairy can help to make this experience magical.

  • Share the enchanting theme of the Forever Tooth Fairies with your child. Explain how with each lost tooth they bestow a magical superpower on their very own Forever Tooth Fairy, powers like love, kindness, confidence etc. making them the hero of their own magical journey.
  • Read The Tale of the Forever Tooth Fairies Together. Our beautifully illustrated storybook transports children to Avalon, home of the Forever Tooth Fairies. Join a boy and a girl fairy along with their enchanting animal friends as they tell the story of how each Forever Tooth Fairy gets ‘magicated’. “Magicated” is one of our special fairy words, and in our gift set, we’ve included a little fairy dictionary for these words and phrases to be understood. The storybook also includes magical extras like a Teeth Brushing Song, a Frequently Asked Fairy Questions section, and a Magic Tooth Tracker so your child can record each lost tooth.
  • Be Ready for the Questions! As we know, children’s curiosity knows no bounds, so no doubt they will have lots of wonderful questions. In the storybook, we include a “Frequently Asked Fairy Questions” section that should cover any queries your little one might have.
  • The excitement of losing that first tooth is palpable, and we know children just can’t wait for it to fall out. It’s helpful to encourage children to let their tooth fall out in its own time. As the Forever Tooth Fairies tell us, it’s important that children don’t try to force their tooth to come out as the magic may not be fully absorbed into their tooth at that stage. So, for now just hold out a little longer and remember that all good things come to those who wait.

Q. What are your hopes for the future of My Forever Tooth Fairy?

A. There is so much on the horizon that I’m excited about. In the immediate future, we are gearing up to expand our product line. Later this year we’ll be launching a new Forever Tooth Fairy boy doll, so that boys (and children who prefer a male fairy) can see themselves in the story just as much as girls can. This has been in the works for a while, and I hope it will open us up to even more families who can join in the magic. Product-wise, I have a whole pipeline of ideas: from additional fairy accessories and keepsakes to seasonal or special-edition fairy characters, and maybe even an animated element to complement the physical toys one day. It’s all about creating a richer experience for children and parents.
